We’re proud to share that Bransby Horses has once again been chosen as one of three beneficiaries of Murphy’s Army this year. To help raise awareness and vital funds for ex-service animals, we’re inviting our wonderful supporters to get involved in a truly special way by knitting a purple poppy.
At Bransby Horses, we are preparing to mark Remembrance Sunday on 8 November with a special tribute to the animals who served alongside our forces, and we would love your help to make it truly unforgettable.
This year, we are inviting our supporters to knit purple poppies, a symbol dedicated to remembering the countless animals who played vital roles in times of war.
Millions of horses served during the World Wars, providing essential transportation for troops, supplies, and heavy artillery, often across challenging and dangerous terrain. Their strength, bravery, and loyalty made an enormous contribution to the freedoms we enjoy today. They, along with many other animals, deserve to be honoured and remembered.
We are aiming to create beautiful displays across Bransby Horses using handmade purple poppies, each one representing gratitude and remembrance. After Remembrance Sunday, these poppies will be available to purchase, helping raise funds to support animals who have served alongside our armed forces.
